Studies have shown that girls are most likely to feel empowered to pursue careers in STEM-related fields when they know or identify with a woman in a STEM area of expertise.

In Rwanda, the STEM Women Lead Series are an initiative by Carnegie Mellon University Africa, the World Bank Group, and the African Development Bank. The goal is to inspires African girls to pursue STEM education. In these series, they get exposed to high-impact dialogues with women who are global leaders and subject matter experts in STEM.
