The 2022 theme focused on rebuilding Tourism after 2 years of challenging times that severely hit the tourism sector. The spotlight was on how tourism can increasingly contribute to economies, foster sustainability and innovations. The goal was also to reconnect Africans to each other and to the rest of the world. 7 main activities marked the tourism week: the Photo Competition, Familiarisation Trip, Restaurant Week, Golf for Conservation, Africa Tourism Business Forum, Exhibitions including a Fashion Exhibition and a Gala Dinner.
