Carnegie Mellon University Graduation, 2017
Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU-Africa) graduation took place on June 6th. The Carnegie Mellon Class of 2017 had 33 graduates being the largest and most diverse class to-date. This class was representative of four countries–Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The upsurge in diversity is due to funding from Smart Africa, an agreement of over 20 African governments supporting students at CMU-Africa. The first unit of Smart Africa scholars graduated in this year’s ceremony.
The Carnegie Mellon University Africa graduation event was a success in collaboration with Rwanda Events. Rwanda events supported the event in terms of providing all tools necessary to aid the event run smoothly such as ; technical support, branding, providing ushers and more.
